Linda joined the BBC aged 18, hoping to work in drama but began as a secretary to TV pioneer Cecil Madden at the newly built TVC. Attached to Sportsview she suddenly found herself timing live items; then worked for Aubrey Singer before becoming an assistant floor manager in drama. She reveals the many skills of the AFM and tells of work with actors such as Jack Hawkins and director Ken Loach. Latterly she helped pioneer Children in Need.
